Book Index with Reviews (BIR) provides information on over 4 million book titles in a wide range of formats, including large print and books on tape as well as close to 700,000 music and DVD/video titles. Fiction and non-fiction titles are included in the database, in all genres. The product contains full-text searchable reviews, including reviews from Library Journal, School Library Journal, Publishers Weekly, CHOICE, and others. The database includes Lexile reading levels and allows users to browse by new releases, forthcoming titles, Dewey range, subject, title, and author/artist.
The My EBSCOhost feature allows users to set searching and viewing preferences and provides options for saving searches, lists, and alerts. The My EBSCOhost alert service helps users stay up-to-date on new editions, forthcoming titles from popular authors, or new releases on hot topics by allowing one to set up a personal account to receive email alerts when a new item matching his or her criteria is added to the database.
