SciFinder Scholar combines the databases produced by the Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) and MEDLINE.

Chemical Abstracts contains documents from journals, patents, conference proceedings, dissertations, technical papers and books (1967-present), covering all fields of chemistry. MEDLINE indexes biomedical literature from 1966-present, with select coverage back to 1946. CAS Registry provides structure diagrams, molecular formulas and more for specific substances. CAS REACT provides reaction information and synthetic preparations (1840-present). CHEMCATS provide an index of commercial chemicals and suppliers. CHEMLIST provides regulatory information (1980-present). MethodsNow allows researchers to search and compare analytical methods. PatentPak provides a searchable database of patents.
