America's Historical Imprints is the most complete collection available of early American publications. The database consists of four parts: Early American Imprints I and its Supplement and Early American Imprints II and its Supplement. The content is based on the authoritative bibliographies compiled by Charles Evans, Roger Bristol, Ralph B. Shaw, and Richard H. Shoemaker, as well as more recent discoveries from the collection of the Library Company of Philadelphia.

AHI includes virtually every book, pamphlet and broadside published in early America, covering all aspects of life in the 17th and 18th centuries from agriculture and auctions through foreign affairs, diplomacy, literature, music, art, religion, the Revolutionary War, slavery, temperance, witchcraft, westward expansion, and many additional topics.
